I’m not saying it’s not a lie, but do have a question for you. If that’s not the case, then why are our own American citizens getting pennies to help assist them in this catastrophe, but migrants are getting 10x the amount of assistance?! Seems kinda fucked up don't ya think?!

Seems kind of deflection-ey. Why can’t these taxpayer citizens get legitimate help when we are flinging money all over the rest of the world and at people who are here illegally?

PAMan says these Americans deserve it but I’m not so sure. Have you seen the hellholes we send money to? Make western NC look like a paradise by comparison.

Per the article, the fact is that the Freedom Caucus has held the House hostage, I mean the Republicans control the House, and they have not wanted to allocate the money. Now we have people asking that Congress come back early to do so. We shall see what Johnson and McConnell do.

So blame GOP leadership for caving to the Freedom Caucus Crazies.

Yes the Democrats dying in blue western NC should go fuck themselves because you went hook, line and sinker on the trope that the Republicans are fucking over Republicans and it’s this huge GOTCHA moment. It’s not. It’s a humanitarian crisis that puts a magnifying glass on our spending priorities in this country. You guys are as guilty of using it as political fodder as the people on the right triggering you with memes about Ukraine.

Us guys? Lol, I'm not a democrat. Or a republican. I'm largely anti politics. What I am anti is people that beg for small government until they need big government. Pick a fucking lane.

It's absolutely a crisis. These people are suffering. But would these people have any kind of empathy for others in their same situation?

Fuck no. "Pull yourself up by your fucking bootstraps, son, and figure it out. My tax dollars shouldn't go toward your problems. Figure it out."

I've heard people say that to people whose houses got destroyed by a fucking tornado. I actually heard those words. It was bullshit then, and it's bullshit now. I feel bad for these people, but they need to understand that when they back small government, that's what the fuck they should get.

Except most of them are cashing government checks at least once or twice a month anyway.

You and PAMan, Tempo, etc have all labeled these flood victims as small government lovers who get welfare and voted against disaster relief. At least murph, who usually would let stuff like this slide if it worked in his political favor, even chimed in and said, uh guys, western NC is pretty blue and voted for Biden by 20 points. Someone needs to pick a lane, just not sure it’s me.

If you’re talking generally about conservative idiots online posting memes conflating Ukraine aid with NC aid, and who want small government but also want aid to NC, then yeah I get that a little more. But even so, the Republicans really seem to want money to help western NC, which is a blue area; so that doesn’t even line up really. What I really think is that those people as a whole have been mad about sending so much money overseas when we need it here in the states. Which actually used to be a kind of liberal thing to say.
