Second paragraph - then you fall down cut your arm, and it gets infected. You don't have any antibiotics and you die from an infection that a 20 minute trip to urgent care in a functional society would have fixed up. In the 1800's, there were some legendary hard men who did some real hardscrabble things - a lot of that was just dumb luck as much as grit. A lot of very gritty men just got a bit unlucky and died.
Third paragraph - indeed. I don't need to know how to hunt a deer. I just need to wait for you to hunt a deer and then shoot you. And really, it's not that hard to bag a deer - there are lots of things you aren't allowed to do with a fish and game license that hungry people won't give a shit about. Traps, trawler nets, etc... Catch limits? With copious amounts of factory farmed food out of the equation, wild game populations would crash very fast. (i probably would be best served letting you clean and butcher that deer tbh)

Last paragraph - if someone has purchased a gun for a purpose other than hunting - they have *some* sort of fantasy going on. The black man is going to come rape their wife and kids, steal their TV. We all know that Joe Biden created this massive inflation, why waste money on a gun that you can't come up with a reason that you'd have to use it?

The people who have guns, and the land to find deer on, and provisions, are way more prepared to defend themselves than their attackers are prepared to take them out. Country boys can survive.
Yes, you’re right. If the supply chain and ecological system collapses, the people with firearms and hunting and fishing skills will still triumph. Generational city folk have none of those skills.
The preppers aren’t protecting themselves against a black man raping their wife and taking their tv (that won’t work without electricity regardless) they’re worried about protecting their food and homes from those who would take it from them in general. That’s basic survival 101, and my citation for that is, well, the entirety of human civilization.
I grow my own vegetables too. Human survival is not rocket science. Grow food near water, have a sturdy shelter, and a robust means to defend yourself and family.
Somehow in the last however many decades that’s been perverted into “be dependent on a store for food, dependent on police for defense, the dollar as valuable currency, and just hope everything continues on as it has in this very brief snapshot of human history that is modern America”
Despite your newly minted millions, if (when) shit hits the fan, we are way more likely to survive than you and yours. Chances are you wouldn’t make it past the first wave of people looking for food.
