Some 20 year old Israeli drafted into the army definitely doesn't care what the NYT, Thomas Friedman, or Sweden thinks.

Again. Neither did the Nazis.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

There is middle ground on most issues, but most view it as taking "their side."

It's kinda funny, sad and pathetic that Custard thinks he's a moderate.

Neither did Nazi Germany.

Ribbentrop certainly thought the Japanese bombing Perl Harbor was a fuck up.

Well, he did serve his country as an elite commando and lost his brother. They both were at Entebbe and his brother was, I believe, the sole military fatality in that operation.  I think one hostage had a heart attack. Big10Man can Google it to confirm.

A lot of dbags have served their country.

You want them to do that which you would never do yourself. It is called hypocrisy.

The remainder of the comment was fact based, including the cosplay comment.

What makes you think they care what you, or I, or some jackasses who shout Death to America, or the Netherlands, think at this point?

Fucking bin Laden killed, what 3,000 people, and we trashed 2 countries as a result. You think anyone here has the moral high ground to chide them after 1,000 hippies (basically) in a country of less than 10m were massacred? If it isn't obvious, it should be at this point. They don't give a shit. There's no one to make peace with or it would have happened already. Fatah and Hamas too busy skimming money.

Chump edit: Of the 1,000 fatalities, just under 400 were military, so saying they were all "massacred" was an overstatement.

Solar and wind should be at point of consumption, not farms. The people building the solar and wind farms can't think past the central power plant model.

The danger of nuclear has always been greatly exaggerated

I know this might be a controversial take, but a lot of people think wind farms need to be put where it gets windy, and solar put where it tends to be sunny.

Put it on the rooftops you say?

The largest energy consumption location in the US is Manhattan, and the amount of rooftop square footage per person is vanishingly small. That's not a bad thing, skyscraper apartments are a pretty efficient use of land.

Plenty of solar going in on top of parking lots, and that will be a point of consumption more and more each year, for charging automobiles.

If burning fossil fuels is as bad as they say, then the cumulative effects are certainly much much worse than those two nuclear incidents that are basically the exceptions that prove the rule.

Windmills on terminal glacial moraines in central Illinois makes some sense. Yeah, it’s taking up really really good farmland that they’re not making any more of, but it’s windy.

The big solar farms on exceptional agricultural land is infuriating. Sure Manhattan isn’t great for solar, but the suburbs sure as hell are.

I'll roll the dice on smog. I'm not moving near Zion and Nichi.

According to data gathered by science writer Phil McKenna in 2011 immediately following the Fukushima accident, nuclear energy causes between 0.2 and 1.2 deaths for every 10 terawatt hours of electricity generated. Coal, by contrast, causes between 2.8 and 32.7 deaths for every 10 terawatt hours. In his report, McKenna found nuclear energy to be safer than hydroelectric power and natural gas as well.

I'm not moving to West Virginia or Kentucky either.  I'm presuming they still have coal miners in Kentucky.
