Apparently the condition is called
Trisomy 18. There is a possibility the child could be born alive. Most still die within a week to a month. A few might survive more than a year but have severe impairments and require continuous care.
Physical characteristics: "prominent back of the head; small eyes, mouth, and jaw; unusual looking ears; clenched fist with overlapping fingers and thumbs; small fingernails; clubbed or rocker bottom soles of the feet; a short breastbone (sternum); and extra skin folds at the back of the neck."
Impairments: heart and lung defects, apnea, hearing and eye defects...
