That is not very specific.

"The Progressive Farmer estimates that USAID is responsible for about $2 billion in U.S. Agriculture commodity purchases annually for humanitarian food aid. Reuters reports that the U.S. has already stopped purchases for foreign food aid programs."

Iowa corn and beans would be part of that.  Not a sham.

This is a very good point.

The GOP frames something like 2 billion spent on food aid to some 3rd world country as money that went down the toilet.

That money ends up being profit for American Farmers. And a big chunk of that money then goes straight back to the government in the form of income taxes paid by that farmer. Other chunks are paying for the seeds, combines, etc.. that the farmer buys, which include sales taxes, and provide profit for Monsanto and Deere, and end up being taxes sent back as well.

If there are problems with waste in the USAID program then by all means make efficiency improvements.  Change its priorities, reduce funding or even advocate for eliminating the program if you want.  But this is something that should be done in a transparent manner and involve Congress.

Farmers (their CPAs) are really really good about finding income tax loopholes by playing the “tax year” game, and there is no sales tax on agricultural equipment or inputs in most states.

Deere and Monsanto (Bayer) do profit and I assume their employees, at least, are paying taxes.

UIUC Soybean Innovation Lab..

I can assure you that no Innovation is taking place there. 100% of that takes place amongst a small handful of multinational conglomerates that control almost all agricultural inputs.

But it's not "her" home and her termination was 2 weeks ago.

Well, they won't be working on soybeans that can be grown in Sub-Sahara Africa anymore.......

It was her home. It doesn't matter when she eas fired. The story is a little dated. It got buried under all all the other nastiness. And I mean by Trump and Musk et al.  She had 60 days to move out. Trump arbitrarily changed it. What kind of person does that or approves of it?

She needed to get out as she was replaced by a competent white guy who needed to move in. What else did she have to do after getting axed except for packing?

Of course. 3 hours with no notice is plenty of time to pack, move out, and find a new place.

She should learn to be more efficient.

It's government housing, ie taxpayer funded.
The story may have gotten buried because of her unsatisfactory recruitment performance which can have a national security impact, her alleged involvement in mishandling sexual assault cases over several years, her mishandling budget and more.
She apparently viewed DEI as an "operational imperative".
She was provided with alternate housing that had been ready for her.

It appears to be the Commander in Chief who did it.
