Reading is fundamental.  Minor errors were found in 2, not 3. One mortgage  was a small loan against the home in New York 42:years ago. The other was a home she bought for a niece in VA.

Two mortgages. Three moot minor errors. Trump officials have tried to blow all of this out of proportion. Damn straight she retained heavy weight counsel.

Oh, and if you ever bought a house or took out a heloc, you would know there are multiple forms and documents. All the relevant ones were error free.

The job of the lawyer was to refute accusations of intentional wrong doing amounting to fraud. Not "to search for a mortgage application done correctly."

That wasn't my intention but 0 for 3 does show some admirable consistency.

Yes. You were consistently wrong on all three points.

I know what has been released to the public. I explained it as well as I can.

Two mortgages. One was in 1983.

Three minor clerical errors.

Immaterial misrepresentations.

Moot points.

No evidence of any intent to commit mortgage fraud.

Siebert declined to pursue charges

The criminal referral is also publicly available.
I didn't see anything in the referral mentioning "moot points" or "minor clerical errors".

It's my understanding that the accurate statements were prior to the Aug 17 "primary residence" document, which appears to have been 2 weeks prior to the loan documents.

Siebert was appointed to an interim position. His appointment was not voted on and he was given an interim appointment extension. The extension has not been voted on.
I wonder if there may have been a way for Siebert to obtain Senate confirmation ?

 gt!!

The so-called primary residence document was just a power of attorney allowing the niece to sign forms. We have been over that.

This is pretty odd.

We're too dependent on corn and soybeans. So we need to shift away from corn to more protein. The biggest direct protein being planted... is soybeans. We should take out corn and put in more soybeans? And then be dependent on just one crop?

FWIW - the corn you see out there *is* protein. Yes, there is a lot of HFCS produced with it, and the silly ethanol, but the majority is still feed corn to feed cows, which ... is protein.

Help me out here, what am I reading wrong? Seriously.

Corn is more of a starch. It has to have protein added to it to make it a good feed for hogs and cattle and chicken. Usually in the form of DDG or soy. Soy isn’t as good as some other plant proteins for replacing corn/wheat based snacks for people. And all those phytoestrogens and glyphosate residues aren’t for everyone, either. As we’ve seen, the demand for soy is being met. We could and should take some corn acres out and move them to things like organically grown chickpeas, but we need to create a bigger market.

People also forget that as soybeans pile up, perhaps temporarily, perhaps not, the market will find ways to use them.

I eagerly await your plan for selling MAGA on reducing cattle production and getting them to eat hummus and falafel. Their waistlines seem to indicate a willingness to eat a healthy diet low in red meat.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just plant grasses and raise livestock?

So where's the grand plan to replace corn acres and create a larger market for oranically grown chickpeas?  And I don't want a link to a report from an ivory tower think tank or research institution.  I wish I had a dollar for every article I've read about the potential of chickpeas as a new crop in the U.S.

I want to see a plan that has buy-in from the corn producers.  Something that's going to result in a significant shift.  People have been talking about this stuff for decades.

Xi is playing the long game, pivoting away from U.S. ag markets.  Wake the fuck up, U.S. farmers.

[AI Overview] Replacing Corn Acres with Chickpeas: Key Considerations and Challenges

Climate compatibility. Chickpeas are a cool-season crop that thrives in semi-arid, drier conditions. More humid climates can lead to lower yields and an increased risk of disease, such as Ascochyta blight.

Soil requirements. Chickpeas prefer well-drained soil with a neutral pH (6.0-7.0) and do not tolerate wet or saline conditions. This is a contrast to corn, which can perform well in a wider range of soil types.

Market volatility. While demand is high, the chickpea market can be vulnerable to price fluctuations influenced by global supply and trade policies.

Production differences. Planting chickpeas requires different equipment settings than corn, including specialized row meters and adjusted seeding depth. A land roller is also important to prepare a smooth, rock-free surface for harvesting.

Weed management. Chickpeas are less competitive against weeds than corn. The transition may require a different weed control strategy, as there are fewer herbicides available for chickpeas.

“If a Radical Left Court ruled against us at this late date, in an attempt to bring down or disturb the largest amount of money, wealth creation and influence the U.S.A. has ever seen, it would be impossible to ever recover, or pay back, these massive sums of money and honor. It would be 1929 all over again, a GREAT DEPRESSION!” Trump wrote in a recent post on Truth Social.

The warning comes as a federal appeals court hears arguments on the legality of his tariff policy. Trump added that if the court were to rule against him, “they should have done so LONG AGO,” claiming, “there is no way America could recover from such a judicial tragedy.”

The Tariff Act of 1930, also known as the Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act, was a protectionist trade measure signed into law in the United States by President Herbert Hoover on June 17, 1930.

Hoover signed the bill against the advice of many senior economists, yielding to pressure from his party and business leaders. Intended to bolster domestic employment and manufacturing, the tariffs instead deepened the Depression because the U.S.'s trading partners retaliated with tariffs of their own, leading to U.S. exports and global trade plummeting. Economists and historians widely regard the act as a policy misstep, and it remains a cautionary example of protectionist policy in modern economic debates.[2] It was followed by more liberal trade agreements, such as the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act of 1934.
