But I'll give the seasoning idea a shot.

I think for me it just looks better with a little seasoning on it which is primarily why I do it. I have some reduced sodium Montreal steak seasoning that I use for things that are salty enough but can use a little texture/color/flavor enhancement. Might not be for everybody but it was a happy accident I’ve been practicing for a while now.

I’ve been accused of that since the term came out. I actually bought that Montreal seasoning not realizing it was reduced sodium. I don’t have any health issues where I need to really be mindful of sodium intake, and I like food to be well-seasoned. But it’s come in handy many times because there are things that need a shot of other flavors without all the salt. And I like to dry brine steaks several hours ahead of cooking them and then apply spices at cooking time. Works perfectly for that. Happy accident.

It's a  good thing Speaker Denny Hastert ordered the flag to be raised to full staff for the inauguration next Monday. Otherwise, Trump would be first President to be crowned with the  flag at half mast; which nobody wants to see that. Bad enough he has to be the first President to be inaugurated on MLK Day.
