I missed all of this yesterday with Merchan's pronouncement of Trump as not a real convicted felon and tOSU taking care of Texas.
Happy 8 year anniversary. It's been a great ride.
PS: it wasn't the bed that was defiled.

Judge Cannon just gave the ok for Garland, if he so chooses, to release Volume 1.
There may be more Cannon decisions to come tho.

Which is interesting since the case is not before her anymore. It is on appeal.

And apparently that is where other motions come in. Cannon may be addressing 1 motion at a time with the 1st being the issue of DOJ saying nothing in Volume 1 impacts the Fla documents case.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-explains-plans-bring-grocery-121208100.html

In theory, if the country produces more fuel, the price at the pump will drop. The savings the farmers and shippers realize could then trickle down to consumers.

Laughable. The savings will go into the farmers and shippers pockets. Trump of all people should know, it's every man for themselves. Supply, and demand. The only way to drive down grocery prices is to expand the supply. Good luck Trump

What’s laughable is that you left out the part about supply chain issues and the  two-bit “analysis” of this snippet of economic plan was done by two financial planners.

If you fix the supply *chain* issues, that is savings that will accrue to the shipper and producer, not the consumer. Why would the shipper give the savings to the consumer? The goodness of their hearts? If nothing else, the last 5 years has proven that thesis to be false.

Unless Trump has a cure for avian flu, eggs will be expensive. Of course, he'll claim it will all "just go away"

All this shit the last couple decades, exacerbated by COVID, has put barriers to entry to the market writ large. A better supply chain won't ship goods from defunct or non-existent suppliers.

WTF? This is NOT who our country elected! This is who was NOT elected!

An imam who was previously ridiculed by Fox News host Sean Hannity for his refusal to acknowledge Hezbollah as a terrorist organization is among the religious leaders scheduled to deliver benedictions at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next week.

But I have been told here for years that the inflation was transitory and due to Covid related supply chain issues! Now you’re telling me it’s basically permanent and nothing can be done?

What needs to happen is a complete tear down and reconstruction of our entire food system, but we all know that won’t happen any time soon.

Murph is all over the place and it is not yet 1/20. Add in Hamas is agreeing to release hostages because Trump warned them what would happen if they didn't and it is bad times for The Progressives.

The food pyramid that was beat into the brains of nearly every Gen X/millennial and hung on the wall of every public school cafeteria in America, is basically the same recipe we use on farms to fatten animals for slaughter.

Not surprisingly, these generations are rife with obesity, autoimmune disorders, gut health problems, diabetes, you name it. Big Food makes us sick and Big Pharma gets everyone hooked on predictions to treat the symptoms. What a cycle!

When science evangelists act like science is absolute, unbiased, and infallible, keep in mind how much mainstream food science has doubled down on falsehoods, flip flopped, evolved, etc in the last 30-40 years.

Except aren't you saying it has not evolved with the times since it is the same food pyramid?

What’s laughable is that you left out the part about supply chain issues and the  two-bit “analysis” of this snippet of economic plan was done by two financial planners.

If fixing supply chains somehow  increases food supply; then that would put downward pressure on prices. Supply and demand.

A couple caveats.

For one, there were lots of rumbles about price fixing / gouging since a handful of companies allegedly control the beef supply. The current batch of Republicans tend to view monopolies as just a natural outcome of capitalism, the cream rising to the top.

Also, climate change.and tariffs have to be factored in..Bird flu is being spread by non-migratory flocks of geese. Guess why  the lazy honkers quit flying south for the winter? Bird flu is the main reason for high egg prices.

I don't know for sure, but I am guessing droughts in California aren't beneficial to domestic fruit and vegetable supplies. Imposing tariffs on imported produce (or meat) doesn't seem like the best way to improve supply chains.

I also don't see how increasing domestic energy production is going to significantly lower prices. As the Tommy Norris character on Land Man noted, if oil prices drop below a certain level, fracking ceases to be profitable. We can be energy independent, or we can have  per barrel oil prices well below 60 dollars, but we can't have both.

Am I missing missing?
