I think we should ignore Trump's rants about Greenland and the "Gulf of America", but this shit needs to be exposed.

Trump is complaining that California's water policies are BAD, and this is why the Palisades burned. But the whole time that Trump has complained about shipping water south from Northern reservoirs has been about watering fields in the Central Valley, which doesn't do jack for fire fighting (and there is plenty of water)

Packing a bunch of SFRs into narrow canyons instead of building densely in cities (The democrats want to take away your single family zoning!) has predictable results. Big swaths of the Tubbs scar were never rebuilt.

Personally - we spent many thousands of dollars cutting out some very nice trees from our yard for fire defense. House in in Nevada but this was bipartisan - TRPA is a joint CA/NV agency that has been very proactive and that's why no houses were lost in the basin in the Caldor fire. Rich people in Pacific Palisades don't want to cut their trees.

Yeah fire mitigation risk takes a lot of management and unpleasant talks with ignorant morons.  How many controlled burns have they allowed in the LA area in the last 50 years?  lol, and god forbid they have the money to install a sprinkler system on their 50 million dollar house or pay to have brush around it removed

You can't do a "controlled burn" in Pacific Palisades. Attempting to do so would pretty much ignite the neighborhood. It's far different than doing a controlled burn out by Kyburz or Nevada City, in unpopulated areas.

It's a very pretty place but not well suited for a lot of human development, especially in our new dryer climate.

Yeah I know lol, the biggest thing is really the proximity of the homes to each other, one reason I'd never buy a house in one of those god awful pre planned communities by toll brothers or whatever, like my neighbor sets his house on fire and now mine is fucked too?  The hell with that

The climate is dryer because you’re smack dab in the middle of the negative part of the 50-60 year PDO cycle. They built a lot of stuff during the ~60 year wetter period from early mid century to 1999 without really taking it into consideration.

“We?” We know plenty. You on the other still seem confused and misinformed.

Toll Brothers isn't really in the 20 million dollar house market

Well, we can say, for now, that  we have a convicted felon as President.

Except for the part that Musk, the de facto President, has not been convicted of anything yet...

I missed all of this yesterday with Merchan's pronouncement of Trump as not a real convicted felon and tOSU taking care of Texas.
Happy 8 year anniversary. It's been a great ride.
PS: it wasn't the bed that was defiled.
