All I know is, for as dumb as having a trial over this real but fairly trivial breach of the letter of the law is, it's not even 1% as dumb as there being a trial for Hunter Biden buying a gun when he wasn't supposed to. And I'm more worried about gun control than campaign finance.

Hope Hicks said the concern for Melania was one of the 1st things mentioned.
Robert Costello, if he was not severely limited in his testimony, would have testified that Cohen mentioned the 1st concern was Melania.

The defense can only provide a defense that the judge will allow, either what is allowed thru pre-trial hearings or during trial.

I guess the jury did not find Hope Hicks as credible as Cohen. She should have cried more on the stand. Or was that the other lady who testified?

Cohen's testimony by itself would be questionable given his shady past.  But his testimony was corroborated by other witnesses and the paper trail.  I think David Pecker's testimony may have been more damaging than Cohen's.

It's called corroboration. It's not even that hard.

A reasonable person can agree on the basic facts of the case. It's clear that SD was paid off at Trump's direction. Business records were falsified. 

I am not quite 100% sold on the effort to make that a felony.

Sometimes we watch Live PD. The police will pull someone over for some minor shit.

The license plate is improperly mounted.

One of the tires touched the center line (improper lane usage)

They failed to use their turn single the correct distance before executing a turn.

As the officer approaches the car, he smells cannabis. The driver is inevitably black, Latino, or a semiliterate white.

The overpowering odor of cannabis enables them to use to use a canine unit. If the dog somethingorothers; they can then search the car.

I am pretty sure they don't pull over every single car with a crooked plate or whose wheel  barely touches the center line or used the turn signal technically wrong. I bet there is some sort of selective law enforcement going on.
