This team has the whiniest fan base this side of Lincoln, Nebraska. I get it -- injuries, La Russa didn't work out, etc.

That being said, it would be entertaining if they made a late run now that La Russa apparently is done. But then we would have to hear more whining when they reach the inevitable impasse.

Another entertaining outcome would be if they somehow made the playoffs and then got hot. Can you imagine the rage in New York if the Yankees get bounced early?

If you’re not watching this White Sox game, you should be. Grand Slams, no-hitters. 13-0 Sox bottom of the 8th. Cease taking a no-no into the 9th.

Tough to lose a no-no with one out left, but great effort from Cease. Maybe just bumped himself to the front of the race for Cy Young.

Not saying it was all TLR, but think it’s totally coincidence they’ve been a completely different team during his absence? I don’t.

I’m ok with not walking Arraez. Though bat flipping a single when you’re getting destroyed 13-0 is…a thing.

Sort of related, this a good a read on a former Sox announcer and Chicago radio personality. I read "Fear Strikes Out: the Jimmy Piersall Story" when I was a kid.
