Everyone on The Twitter and in the media and here agrees that you are way BTC on this one.

That’s fine. I also realize almost everyone hates refs. Hates the call. And are super unlikely to give a ref the benefit of the doubt.

Have already pointed out that if I were trying to avoid contact I’d move away from the path of the person instead of directly into it, so leave me out of your “all of us would”.  I think it’s clear from the reaction that you are in a very tiny minority thinking he moved away from contact when he moved towards it.

Lol. Marsh clearly started out directly in the path of the ref, as evidenced by the fact the ref’s feet barely moved in the slightest, and Marsh had to swerve.

I’m not saying he “moved away from it,” because he barely moved at all. I’m saying he turned his body to deflect taking a direct hit; and tensed his body to prepare for any contact.

Again, NO ONE, not a damn soul, is talking about this if it wasn’t for the highly controversial penalty.

Not every day a ref hip checks a player.

Funny, coming from a probable conspiracy nut.

People found a great chance to pile on a ref who probably made a bad (certainly unpopular) subjective call. Name me a profession more despised than referees? I’ll hang up and listen to your answer.

My thoughts on the actual call itself. I get what the NFL is trying to do. I don’t really have a problem with taunting calls, but I do think that refs should probably keep the flag in their pockets late in a close game, unless it’s particularly egregious; which I didn’t feel this one was. But as i said, when you put yourself out there, you put the team in danger. The Bears are undisciplined; that cost them the game as much as the refs.

Having said that, I make no apologies for wanting the Bears to lose. Changing management is as crucial as getting the QB position right IMO.

Everyone and their brother knows taunting is a POE this year. If you can’t play smart and line up correctly in crucial situations don’t be surprised when you lose. Middling, poorly coached teams lose games like this every week.

The timing of the call, after he bumped into Kung Foo Fighter, just added to the ludicrousness of the ref sticking his ass out in the 1st place.

No one here is arguing against you on this. It’s your bizarre delusion that the referee didn’t move toward Marsh that no one can comprehend. Proof that telling yourself something enough times can make it real. This is also known as girl logic.

The ref had his hand on the flag the entire time. He probably intended to throw it all along. Agreed, the timing makes it look worse than it probably was.

Cool brand of misogyny you have going on there.

All the ref did was turn sideways. His right foot barely moves, his left foot appears to not move at all. How much could he really have moved? Marsh was the one doing 95% of the moving.

You know what, im slightly wrong. His left foot moves slightly too. Two of the tiniest baby steps imaginable. Like literally a couple/three inches with both feet. Marsh took off in a direction completely at the referee. As I’ve said 20x, no one even notices or discusses this if not for the perceived egregiousness of the penalty call. Players and refs inadvertently bump each all the time. It’s certainly plausible that Corrente sought contact. It’s far from definitive.

Try looking at something besides his feet. Like his ass. And left arm. Jesus Christ.
