While the Bears paid a steep price for Mack, and it looks like it hasn't worked out, I'm not ready to write him off just yet.

I’ve never actually “written him off.” On paper, the deal was perfectly fine. It was the timing of the deal I had issue with. They clearly weren’t a Khalil Mack away from winning the SB. If Khalil Mack leads them to a SB win this year, I will have been wrong, but it’s not very likely. And wasn’t in 2018, either.

I’m confident Khalil Mack can still be a difference maker. Can he recapture his 2018 form? 3 years older and a couple of ho hum years (by his standards) removed from 2018, I’m skeptical.

Tomorrow we will see Justin Fields play football in a Bears uniform.

On draft day, I gave Ryan Pace credit for doing some good things, which I almost never do. And turns out they drafted a LT they knew was injured, apparently didn’t have a backup plan at the position. How very Ryan Pacey.

Seems like good planning with your hopes riding on the success of your new future franchise QB.

The Bears love drafting injured players. I want to say Jerry Angelo did it too with Chris Williams.

Yep. And Pace did it with Kevin White, too. What a great pick that was.

But the 2 picks they gave up for Mack would have been all-pro rookie year.

Not really sure where that came from, but they could have drafted Montez Sweat whose probably worth both those picks.

Andy Dalton did his best Andy Dalton impersonation.

I realize it’s only a preseason game, but looks like Nagy really has this offense moving in the right direction…

I’m not saying retire the number (the Bears already have too many), but it feels wrong that they’d give 23 to a kick returner…

Good pass from Fields on that 3rd down out, even better coverage.

Tempo, watching this shit do you understand why no one here was talking about the Bear? The fucking Cub offense post-trades is better than this shit.
