I'm not so sure the rules have changed much tho, just the process. Apparently, with NIL the NCAA will rely on the school to police itself regarding a player using his NIL. A player with a good 'media/public relations' (lol) person or staff won't have to rely on relatives or representatives to deal with Joey Bagodonuts.
From today's fishwrap....
"NCAA moves to let schools police athletes’ compensation
An NCAA vote on Monday handed member schools the responsibility of policing third-party payments to college athletes."

Here’s an analogy for Sean Miller. He’s like the stock that got really high, but took a dive. But buying it or holding may prove prudent.

We’ve all seen how “damaging” getting into trouble is. See: Pearl, Bruce. Pitino, Rick. Calipari, John. Sampson, Kelvin. Et al.

I think you nailed it here.  It's a herd of swine but damn, they sure can coach 'em up!

So the roosters are guarding the hen house. Yeah, I'm really sure tO$u is going to be vigilant.

So,theoretically a shill company could make a deal with Curbelo to put his name on some hot sauce they claim they are going to make.
They never make it or make like 10 bottles of it.
They pay Curbelo $100k.
It's all funded by a booster investor.

The slime schemes  will find a way to skirt the rules. No different than now when a booster donates $100k to an AAU club who hires the mom or uncle to do nothing  and pass the money through.

Remember when Lance Thomas bought $100k of stuff at jewelry store while at Duke?
The money Miller paid Ayton wasn't his.
Lol.

The guardian, uncle or grandmother gets a new gig as a pr representative. They're just requiring a job description now.
The transfer portal is now rent a player, and NIL will not help.
I hope I'm wrong but .....

Miller won a lot before the FBI found he was arranging illegal payments to rent the services of future NBA players.

And that differs from what other competitive major programs?
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

So, given that Tempo has Sean Miller’s cock deep in his throat, is it really worth it?

College basketball is a shithole. If you don’t know that, you’re not paying attention.

Sean Miller gained access to some great players. He played beyond the gray area. He won a lot of games by doing this.

Does anyone know if he has a great basketball mind? I mean, he probably needs to know how to coach 5 star talent to play well together, but is that really challenging? Maybe.

Did anyone ever watch an Arizona game and think, man, these guys really know how to play basketball?

Maybe the answer is yes. But I’ve never seen it.

As far as his accomplishments compared to Brad. Sure. Hard to argue against it. Brad hasn’t done much yet, and he has a ways to go, and I have my doubts that he can do it here. But let’s not pretend that Sean Miller, or really any of these other crooked fuckers, are the end all be all. No matter what ESPN wants you to think.

Because see, they’re all scumbags. They’re used car salesmen, making way too much money and backed by dipshit networks like ESPN and people like Tempo that worship them.

It’s a shithole, fellas.  These fucking coaches are all scum. Every single one of them. They dress like investment bankers on the sideline and make themselves the faces of their programs by cheating their asses off and taking huge salaries for taking whomever the shoe companies say they can take.

Fuck college basketball.
I take it you don't have much faith in what Mark Emmett says.
"This is an important moment for college sports and particularly for our athletes," Emmert said. "We must act to ensure that fair opportunities, consistent with our values, are provided to all student-athletes."
And from the AP to protect the level playing field that exists for all member institutions ....
"The NCAA does want to place some limitations around NIL rights and to be able to monitor athletes' deals to prevent payments from being used as recruiting inducements."
https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/31661417/ncaa-president-mark-emmert-tells-schools-act-nil-will

So there you have it. Everything is under control.

I've seen many of his games in person over the yrs.  Although, I hated the mofo, several times I came away from games thinking "how the hell did he get all these frosh/new-comers to play such coordinated defense?"

Maybe you need to stay up later when their games are usually on.  Just sayin'.

Over on the other sites they talk about how great college basketball is and they hate the NBA and say how terrible the level of play is.

That was a very wordy way of saying Sean Miller is far more accomplished than Brad Underwood.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Elderly sports fans like myself tend to have fond memories of how basketball was played way back in the day. There were notable exceptions, but today's players are bigger, faster, and generally way more skilled for size.

Rules have changed the game too. One notable difference is if you watch old film, dribbling often looks odd and the off hand is not used as much. This is partly because some guys could not dribble with their off hand, but largely because of the old palming rule.
“Taking a trip? Where to?”  -“Wherever I end up, I guess. -“Man, I wish I was you." -Well, hang in there.”
