Before the old HQ shut down we had some guys that kinda knew the recruiting scene and made it pretty clear Illinois was playing the gray areas. I’ve always personally felt and even mentioned before at the old board that I thought Underwood would be more likely to leave Illinois due to NCAA problems than failing to win enough. Not that I think he’s necessarily dirty but more so that he’s just not the kind of guy that’s going to do things like Weber did. He’s going to push every boundary for any kind of advantage. There have been some rumors of Whitman stepping in and mediating in some of the big recruiting battles they’ve been involved in.


Oh,FFS. Everybody pushes the rules. The rules are a joke. The system is a fcking joke. AAU teams are non-profits. Donors make donations to La Lumiere etc,. Schools have shoe deals, AAU clubs get shoe company donations to send kids to those schools. The money and goods gets routed. It is all relative. Kids get shoes to go to Western Illinois. They get a lot more to go higher levels. It's been that way for generations.  Everybody can shut the fck up. They are all in on it, and they all benefit.

Do you think there’s any difference in the way Bill Self and Bruce Weber utilize those things to operate their programs?

Also, how many edibles did Giorgi and Kofi have before their post game interview. 🤔
