Wisconsin has now had 30 years of a respectable to good football program. A good chunk of those years were under our current head coach.

Just seven years ago we had an interim AD and interim coach due to a player abuse scandal caused by walking clown show Tim Beckman, along with some of the worst facilities in the Big Ten.

Basically, because Guenther, Jr. can jog and chew gum at the same time unlike his predecessors, he needs to be extended and further enriched.

Contrary to the Scorat Bored idiots, the lesson to be learned from Illini basketball post-Weber was that the mistake was not in firing Weber, but in hiring even bigger buffoons to replace him. Guenther, Jr. gets props because the current guy is not as bad as the guy he hired when he first started and the idiots before that guy. Nice work if you can get it.

Again, have good basketball and football teams and you will be swimming in cash (including cash from the state) and not Asian butthole. No one gives a crap about non-revenue country club sports except the parents of the student-athletes.

Need to start thinking big, like MI, OSU, Alabama, even Wisconsin, instead of small. The public at large and the Illinois legislature does not care that Illinois and Wisconsin are tied for 9th in public universities. The Wisconsin "brand" shines far brighter with the public and politicians than Illinois'.

Have to start somewhere. Like getting the fan base to care enough to be completely pissed off and bring pressure to the administration (not the AD's office) instead of just "not going" as Custard has previous mentioned.  COVID-era, as in the photo you posted, does not count.

During his tenure we have seen marked improvements in performance, fundraising, and facilities in nearly every sport that Illinois offers.

I get that we all want to be amongst the elite right away, but Lord Guenther put us in a 20 year hole when it came to the revenue sports arms race.

Still don’t understand how throwing fits online holds anyone at the university accountable. We’ve greatly upgraded our facilities and the donor/fanbase has been reengaged. Our on-field performance has improved. We’ve got coaches that have proven they can win at a high level.

What we need to take the next step is lots and lots of NIL money. If we are half the university we think we are at cranking out successful graduates, we shouldn’t be losing many NIL battles.

As much as people hate the NIL/transfer portal era, there actually has never been a better time for a sleeping giant like Illinois to wake up.

Elite? How about competent? We can review again that we can't get get to the second weekend even with 2 AAs in basketball. We have seen the shit on the football field since last October.

All I am seeing is: Well, he is doing better than the guys before him. That makes him the taller midget. People are not raising hell, like they would be at say MI (like when Rich Rod was there) or OSU, to make the admin consider that it would beneficial to their bottom line and national status if they took the revenue sports seriously (instead of hampering them with BS admission rules etc.). Do you really think the admin takes this stuff seriously?

I am calling for HQ2 members to go on a hunger strike until

a) Underachiever wins the first weekend to get the Illini into the S16; AND

b) Bielema goes to back-to-back bowl games.

Who is in?

How about refraining from giving your wife the D until those 2 events happen?

Best I can do is pledge to not make fun of Tempo, no matter how much he deserves it.

Bullshit. You’d go two years without pussy before you’d do that.
