Congrats to the coaches and the players.
We flat out got beat by Michigan and took a few games to get our heads on straight. We got to Greenville and after having fun with Fran's team we started playing some extended defense, 40 minutes vs Houston and the 2nd half yesterday.
We sunk 3 from 3 yesterday, taking only 17, and went 18-21 on free shots. But .......
VCU shot 35% and scored 55, Houston shot 34% and scored 55, xxxx shot 23% in the 2nd half and scored 59. Outstanding.

Yes it is registered.

You have to continue to use it or someone else can take it.

There are websites out there specializing in selling authorized materials with such retired logos like Chief Illinwek, Marquette Warrior, St. John Redmen, etc. to prevent poaching

I’m just curious about the legality - if the University owned the trademark and doesn’t want it out there, how does 47 get a “license” to use it. IANAL - I don’t quite parse PAMans response, just wondering how it works.

Based on what he said - maybe that’s why NFL teams occasionally do “throwbacks”

It can't be officially licensed. That logo died with the chief. There is no license.
