He came off of a good season in 2022 in which they made the playoffs. What should they have done instead? Draft Will Levis? He’s the most likely replacement for Jones. It was a contract that involved some risk, but not a ton. Dak Prescott vs Daniel Jones. If I’m an NFL owner, I know who’s contract I’d rather be on the hook for, and it ain’t Dak’s.

Never said you did. Bad quarterback contracts are sometimes just the cost of doing business. There’s maybe 6-8 “elite” quarterbacks out there (and that’s probably being generous). A majority of teams are going to have largely undesirable quarterback contracts.
