I think “huge contract” is a bit overblown. Yes, it’s huge to us, but by starting quarterback salaries, it’s around middle of the league. His guarantees weren’t overly massive. They took a stab on a guy who had a decent season in 2022 and it didn’t work out. It’s basically just the cost of doing business in the NFL. There are definitely worse contracts out there. DeSean Watson, anyone? Dak’s contract is killing the Cowboys.
