Praised him?

No, I defended him because you and the rest of the Fields Fellatio Gang were out for blood.  Because a dude made a hell of a play, reached out and grabbed a literal Hail Mary, and then dropped the catch in the end.  Which of course completely exonerated Fields from any and all mistakes he made that day.

Not sure I’ve ever once heard you fault Tonyan and Scott for making key drops in that game.

Pretty sure, in fact.

LMAO. Gold, Jerry. Gold.

Justin Fields goes 19/40 for 166 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT.  He fumbles twice.

The blame goes to Darnell Mooney, who almost made a miracle play to bail Fields and the Bears out on a tipped Hail Mary but couldn't complete the play.  Acknowledging that fact is 'praise'.

A perfect encapsulation of the Tempo/Fields experience.  Fields plays a terrible game but it's not his fault the Bears lost, it's the fault of the dude who just barely couldn't bail Fields out.

You spend the rest of the week talking about the week some much better QB had against Cleveland.

Yes, because you exclusively read opinions that confirm your bias and let everything else slide right through the vacuous cavity in your skull.  Tonyan deserved the blame for the drop, as I've said with 100% consistency from the second it happened.

And Fields deserved the blame for all the poor plays he made that day.

You agreed with one of those things, but not the other.

Burrow and Purdy had much worse days in Cleveland. And played there in better weather. And probably weren’t victimized by as many key drops.

Justin Fields probably had the best game any visiting quarterback had in Cleveland all year. They were a nightmare for opposing QBs at home.

I love that you replied before I added the last line.

I was obviously well ahead of the curve

Sure, if you put it in a vacuum and a one-game sample size. BUT we’ve all seen the big picture with those two and Fields. I think you know the correct answer on who’s a good QB and who’s not…
Because FOX News told me so…

What I don’t agree with is that mistakes from others can be forgiven, but mistakes from Fields are not forgivable.

Overcoming a horrendous drop on a perfectly thrown 65 yard ball against a historically good defense on the road is tough to overcome for any quarterback. Any coach will tell you the wins and losses usually come down to a few plays. That’s a tough one to overcome in a tight game.

They only played a few decent QBs.  Burrows opening day.  Lamar.  Purdy.  Trevor Lawrence.

They also got starts against them by Fields, Trevor Siemian, Kenny Pickett, Clayton Tune, Ryan Tannehill, PJ Walker, Case Keenum.

You're still focusing on one play in one loss instead of the fact that Fields was mediocre at best for the large majority of the year (and his career thusfar).

To be clear, not once have I said that that throw or the Cleveland loss is why I was ready to move on with Fields.  It was a good throw and Tonyan blew it, as I've said over and over.  There were many other times that Fields blew it, but those times you simply ignored or argued that they were someone else's fault.  Not once have I blamed Fields for that Tonyan drop.

Which isn't a thing that anyone said.

I've never argued in favor of Robert Tonyan.  He fucked up, and deserves the consequences for that.

The problem is when people tried to criticize Fields for his mistakes, you simply would not allow it without a 10 page argument.

Yeah, and every last one of them had a miserable day there. Including the superstars.

You didn’t “say,” it. It just seemed you were quick to dismiss errors by others, but Justin’s errors were always the one’s costing them games…
