Common sense would tell you they have at least one eye on extending him, otherwise why give up a draft pick for him? If all you wanted was a backup, they could have kept Mason Rudolph.

They gave up a 6th round pick (conditional). Let's not pretend that they gave up anything super valuable.

And it's very well known that Mason Rudolph isn't good. Plus he's a dick.

Sure, they may extend him. But they also may not. Can't argue that. It's a prove it year for him, which makes it tough from the back up spot.

Teams don’t usually just give away draft picks willy nilly. Even 6ths (which could be a 4?). It’s pretty obvious that extending him is on the table. As is cutting his ass.

Yes. I never said it wasn't. I'm just saying it wasn't a great value that they gave up. You have to admit that.

We largely agree. It's certainly possible he gets extended. Or cut. We'll see.
