It’s not the same. Stafford missed a lot of starts year 1 and 2. I’m also pretty sure they didn’t actively tank an entire season.
Stafford inherited a team that had not won a single game the year before.
With incredible consistency, the valid stats are the ones that make Fields look good and the invalid ones are the ones that make him look bad - even if they’re the same stats.
W/L record is entirely unfair to tie to a QB, unless you’re trying to denigrate a guy who is better than Fields in which case he has a bad record so he was a bust at 1.01. But it’s unfair to compare his whole 10+ year career to Fields’ 3 seasons. And it’s also unfair to compare his 3 seasons to Fields, because Stafford was hurt for more of them. And it’s ALSO unfair to compare his first 38 starts to Fields’ first 38, because the 0-18 team he inherited had better talent.
