So I guess the “lie” is that I don’t judge Justin harshly for being completely mishandled his rookie year by an incompetent coach (never given reps with the 1s) then thrown to the wolves with a veteran game plan against a Cleveland defense that battered him all afternoon with no reasonable adjustments from Nagy. And then in year 2 had the team stripped down around him and given a rookie OC who almost everyone agree sucks.

Yeah, that’s exactly the same as stepping into traditional powerhouse Oklahoma as a freshman with the best quarterback coach in college football.

Only at HQ does that all make total sense.

I don't want to get involved since you got all mad when I said you were lying and I did not make the allegation here.

Still waiting for someone to produce “the lie.”

Are they?

When a stat contradicts what you believe is true you mock the person who posted it.  “Statz!”

If the stats are the stats then Justin Fields isn’t a very good quarterback thusfar, but you don’t think those stats count.  You mocked me for using his passer rating as evidence but then you saw a tweet about his passer rating in the last five full games and posted it as your evidence.

Is it that much to ask for you to be consistent about shit like that?

I think you value stats as much more definitive than I do. And I don’t think you take into account circumstances but consider everything essentially equal when they are not. Correct, I’m not going to value stats as much when a 2nd year quarterback’s stats are lacking when he’s been given practice squad level players to support him.

Again, you seem eager to toss out Willaims’ freshman year at 10th ranked Oklahoma with the nation’s best quarterback coach, perhaps by a mile. And you also ignore that his freshman splits are virtually identical to his entire career, which I acknowledged I would call a positive in his evaluation.

And lastly, you ignore Justin’s total stats, which are quite good. I get that  the passing needs to be better, particularly when it was last year, but Justin Fields flat out carried that offense on his back last year. I think most people outside of hardcore Fields detractors would agree.

And for the 832nd time, yes, Justin still has some noticeable flaws. But I think his playmaking ability supersedes a lot of that, and I think they are areas he can and should improve in. Partcicuarly when the talent is upgraded, and it will be. Tua took off when he got Hill and Waddle. Hurts took off when he got AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. Mahomes was at his best with Hill and Kelce. Allen took off when he got Diggs, a top 5 WR (at least at the time). Look at how erratic Allen is now with merely “good” weapons.” Burrow took a jump when he got Chase (and Higgins would be a 1 on some teams).  Purdy has Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, and McCaffery.

Justin has never had anything that approaches most of this. Not to mention, he’s surely had the worst line of all these quarterbacks. The talent around him is getting better, but it isn’t there yet.

From the LA Times this week. This seems to dispel the narrative that USC is a WR wasteland.

FTR, he was with Oklahoma as their WR coach for 7 seasons, and Oklahoma has been putting a lot of receivers in the NfL im pretty sure. So “deepest group ever” should be significant.

CeeDee Lamb? Marvin Mims? Marquise Brown? You can also add Mark Andrews.

Where'd the "the stats are the stats" line come from?  Must've been a guy who wants to move on from Fields who said it since you're trying to make fun of them for it, right?
