While the $83m may be reduced by the judge or on appeal, the fact that no decent lawyers want to represent Trump.at this point is a big issue.

You act like they did this just for Trump. That's not been the case.

I'm guessing they were the 1st ones with a suit. And I'm not referring to the suit that Carroll said she was wearing in the high end department store when she was allegedly raped, either in 1995 or 1996, which would have been before the suit she said she was wearing was designed.

Maybe you should have been Trump's lawyer in that case!

Didn't he end up paying her instead of appealing?

Don't know and don't care.
If he did, would you take it as an admission of guilt ?
If you do, would you consider it an admission of guilt to her rape allegation or to what he was judged to be civilly liable for ?
She accused him of rape.

Are you referring to the dress she wore? I have never heard it called a suit or seen it questioned.

The link is a joke. The applicable NY law defined rape as penetration with a penis. She never accused Trump of that.

Can you verify that she had anything to do with the NY law?

"Writer E. Jean Carroll opened her testimony on Wednesday saying, “I’m here because Donald Trump raped me,” and detailed the alleged events that occurred between her and the former president in a department store in the 1990s, facing questions from her attorney, Mike Ferrara, about the events that led up to the alleged incident."

"Trump then allegedly opened a dressing room door, which she walked into before he “shoved” her against a wall, pulled down her tights and “inserted his penis,” Carroll said during the testimony."

She accused him of rape.

As we see with TSJ, the legal definition of rape is much broader than maybe peoples' general understanding.

I would have expected him to testify if he was not guilty, since it was a civil action. Also would have expected him to appeal. It is not like he is not litigious.

Complain to NY legislators, about the additional statute of limitations, and the Brits, I guess, for the notion of defamation.

I stand corrected on one count. Evidently, the jury was split on rape, but unanimous on digital penetration.

Trump still denies ever meeting her.

Still can't find a good source that says she made NY pass the law or that her dress hadn't been designed.

Uncertainty as to between late 1995 or early 1996 is not a game changer.

You are correct.  Trump should have testified and defended himself better instead of letting his Grab Them By The Pussy line define him.
