Rookie quarterback captain is the participation trophy award of the NFL. I’ll bet Terry Bradshaw wasn’t a captain his rookie year. He had to EARN it!

Feeling like an upset or two could be in store for this weekend. Will be some inclement weather but should help home teams. I think the Rams or the Texans walk off with a win.

Credit to McVay, this season might be his best coaching job. I thought they were toast around week 5.

Tempo will rail all he wants despite being provided examples of other such instances of players, maybe prematurely, being named captain. Still seems grouchy that his guy Fields was a benchwarmer this year.

I never said it was exclusive to the Bears. I don’t agree with it in general.
