I would agree. College football is currently sacrificing long-term demand in favor of meeting short-term demands, and has been for some time. NIL is a really great thing on the whole but you need to encourage long-term deals on both the scholarship and NIL side. It's ridiculous to try and run a sports league with one-year free agency and that's what college football is essentially doing right now.
College football only works when fans are willing to invest in season tickets and then traveling to see an 8-4 team in the Gator Bowl. I'm not sure the current game will maintain that aside from the 15 or so programs that benefit from having a national pro league.
