I’m struggling to remember where I said they didn’t want the ball thrown downfield (minus Sunday).

Also, In text messages you said 10x that Parkins wants Fields to run like last year, and I told you 10x that’s not what he said. And then 20 minutes later you finally realized I was right. So your listening skills are dubious IMO. You’re very much a confirmation bias listener.

I’m assuming you are referring to where Flus’ said “yeah, we want Justin to throw downfield.” See, here’s the thing. Flus’ can SAY anything. Doesn’t make it true or not true. But when DJ Moore says after the game that the short stuff was a big part of the game plan, and it jibes perfectly with what I saw on the field, I tend to conclude that is factual.

This is how a long exchange of “he said this - he did not say this” concluded.

Anyway, to recap: Parkins was saying it’s stupid to go from too many designed runs to basically none (the only designed run Sunday was the QB sneak). PAMan heard that as “Parkins wants last year but better passing.” That isn’t what he said. He wants Fields’ athleticism to remain a threat to keep the defense soft. When the offense was struggling Sunday, they could have probably benefited from a couple designed runs. We know the screens weren’t working.

Plus I think the running gets Fields’ confidence up and gets him into a better flow of the game. Hopefully at some point as he matures as a quarterback he won’t need that gimmick to get him going, but at this point this is what he is.

Nagy did the same thing with Mitch. Coached the athleticism out of his game then he was toast as a prospect. But Mitch was never going to be good because he couldn’t see the field and wasn’t accurate. And before you go there, Mitch had probably 20+ more starts than Fields has had. Plus, Nagy broke him. The only guy who can’t be broken by Nagy is Mahomes.

Chump edit: Trubisky had 53 starts before he was kicked to the curb. Fields is at 28. So a difference of 25.

Trubisky was an awful pick by a trash organization run by the McCaskeys.
It's got nothing to do with game planning.

Can always count on the hard hitting quality analysis from Mn.

You can dissect the game all you want but the opening series was flat out stupid and the game went downhill from there. The coaches and players weren't prepared.
Those things happen in poorly run organizations.

Correct. I’m guessing also rebuilding ones. The GM and HC are 18 games into their positions. I don’t expect everything they do to be the correct thing. Can they self-evaluate and learn? That’s what I want to know.

Are the Steelers and Bills poorly run organizations? They both got embarrassed week 1.

As I told you while I was listening to his shit takes, the fucker kept saying he wants Fields running like last year. 2 hours into his show he clarified that he did not want him running 15x a game.

So who actually listened? Me..

Who actually knows that Getsy wants the shitty passing QB to throw the ball downfield? Me..

Your viewpoint on Getsy's playcalling got exposed, debunked, and obliterated on that show yesterday. Talk about "narratives" and "bias"! To paraphrase The Coach, zero, that's your football IQ, pal!

Can easily swap out Mitch for Fields. Guy sucks as a passing QB. Run the fucking option and throw occasionally.

Again, Parkins never said that he “wanted last year.” He said he thought it was dumb to eliminate designed runs entirely. Said there was middle ground.
