Went in for my annual former smoker CT. I used the same back roads as last year. I always leave extra time in case of trains, detours or whatever. This year compared the last couple heavy trucker traffic cost me time. They drive slower, take longer to stop and get up to speed. They are also hard to pass on county roads. The corn and beans looked really good for late June / early July.
We did some shopping. There were a lot more NE Illinois exurbanites out and about, almost back to precovid. They were driving very agressively and mostly ignoring the posted speed limits. Those who drove sanely got honked at, flipped off, etc. I bet over half the people we saw were obese and looked generally unpleasant.
We stopped by Best Buy. There was some kind of rage incident. I couldn't tell if was a disgruntled associate or customer. Police showed up.
My CT was good enough.
