Nice headlines but they're both paywalled to me.

"Others the Justice Department dismissed include career attorneys who worked on the prosecutions of Trump and those who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021."

"The firings — often made without explanation — aren’t normal. Prosecutors and other federal employees are typically fired only when they do something improper or fail to perform their duties."

“‘Unusual’ is the wrong word — it’s unheard of,” said Max Stier, president of the Partnership for Public Service ...

Hey Max. I'll explain. You are corect, the dismissals aren't normal but the 1st ones you mentioned prosecuted the guy. And the ones hired to prosecute Jan 6 were no longer needed.

Chaos and uncertainty is the point.  Trump and his minions want everyone in the federal government beholden to their whims and fits of pique.

I don't know of anyone who was hired exclusively to prosecute Jan 6. Can you provide a link?

There were career prosecutors that worked on Jan 6 who were fired.

Firing career prosecutors as revenge for protecting Trump is incredibly bad form.

OK, now we have a "Republican" President trying to order a US Company to fire their CEO.

Banana Republic. Also: Communism

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2025/08/07/trump-calls-intel-ceo-resign/

President Donald Trump called for Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan to resign Thursday, picking up on controversy over his investments in China.

“The CEO of INTEL is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday morning.

Your AI not working ?

Some were temporary hires due to the caseload. The media  may be referring to some of the 'career prosecutors' as the temporary hire prosecutors who were given permanent status by Biden after the election but before he left the White House..
The Trump administration ended those prosecutions so the extra prosecutors were no longer needed by the DOJ.

If any of the fired ones were involved in the filing of conspiracy charges, that's fine.

I laughed at the AI line.

Nichi, you, like many others, need to realize the rules have changed. To the victor goes the spoils. Also, just imagine if that dumbshit Merrick Garland understood it and actually prosecuted Trump for his actual damned crimes at the start instead of doing whatever it was he was doing.

Garland's work did bring about the SCOTUS immunity position, which may be beneficial to Obama.
Unless they file a Pinkerton charge.

He was probably spreading himself too thin by going after parents of school kids, Catholic churches and protecting abortion clinics.

Exactly.  Garland acted like we're in some semblance of normality.  He was too conscious of looking too political instead of treating obvious criminal behavior like it should have been treated..  Hopping on one foot, blindfolded and barking like a dog to get those classified documents instead of locking him up.  He and. Mitch are going to regret their lack of action for perpetuity.
