I’m pretty sure he has more money than me but is mad he had to pitch in his own money to fix the in-laws place rather than DeSantis using other people’s money to fix it.

I don't think Carmel is considered part of Southern California.  Favorite place in CA is Encinitas and favorite place in FL is Dunedin.  Both states are nice to visit, but that's about it.

I'm from California, it would be my money either way.

The problem is that we fixed it up, but there is still a pile of sticks across the road that used to be a trailer park. That's the part you didn't put in your photo.

Central Coast is not Southern California. Carmel is pretty awesome. What's really wild about Carmel is, you think of it as this super expensive ritzy place, but we have friends who moved there because the high school is pretty good and the housing was *cheap* compared to the Bay Area. Like it used to be pricier, but outside of places that are literally inside the 17 mile drive that run into 8-9 figures, prices have stayed pretty stable while the Bay Area got silly.
