Custard likes to think they changed the SOL on the sexual assault law just for Trump. 3,000 of those cases have been filed under that extended SOL. (Per the Failing NY Times.) Incredibly,  not all of them are against Trump.

It is also not as if Trump has been the only one charged under that NY financial fraud statute. There has been 70 cases brought under that statute. (It does not appear the Pharma Bro was one of them.)

OK. I was reading about the Judge extending the SoL for evidence purposes in the civil bank fraud case. I thought that was questionable, but have not wrapped my head around it.

Wasn't thinking about the sexual assault case. 

"The Adult Survivors Act, signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul in 2022, lifted the state’s statute of limitations for one year to allow adults to file civil lawsuits for sexual misconduct no matter when it occurred.

Before 2019, an accuser in New York had to file a civil suit within three years of sexual misconduct.  That year, the state expanded its statute of limitation for some sex crimes to 20 years, but it did not allow for legal action in cases where the statute of limitations had already expired."
