Racist white people recorded racist songs a long time ago so it’s ok that modern black music glorifies violence, misogyny, drug abuse, and other socially reckless norms. Cool.

Remember this conversation happening years ago at OGHQ and Tempo said these gangsta rappers were just reflecting the culture they grew up in and witnessed. And I suppose they were/are, in the exact same way the hillbillies that wrote all these other songs were reflecting their upbringing.

In this classic case of whataboutism, we once again apply selective accountability with a healthy dose of the soft bigotry of low expectations.
