The editorial opinion in today's fishwrap is a reprint of a Jan 10 editorial in the Chicago Tribune.

'Trump should not be allowed to run for President because he would not sign a pledge ruled unconstitutional by the courts.'

I'm having a difficult time believing that what I read was actually put in black and white in major metropolitan newspapers in the United States.

I remember when there were four daily newspapers in Chicago in the late 60s:  Daily News, Sun-Times, Tribune, and Today (formerly the American).  Very competitive; hard-nosed reporting; no-nonsense columnists; and a wide range of editorial opinion.

LOL. Advocating for disregarding protections afforded by the 1st Amendment when those protections have been upheld by the courts in this particular matter is the issue.

As we have seen recently, the Courts are open to changing their minds when it comes to longstanding precedent.  It was not that long ago people were kicked off the ballots, or denied law licenses, for not signing those things, right?

The courts didn't change their minds on this one tho. The Tribune is trying, and looks to be succeeding in some people's minds.
