The league average passer rating is 89.  Fields has been below that in 5 out of 8 full games he’s played this year, not counting the Minnesota half.

Fields is making the same mistakes he was his rookie year. It’s because he can’t read defenses and anticipate throws to open receivers. It’s clear to see and those things really don’t have anything to do with the players around him. Bagent proved that. That’s why you Field's cultists are so upset. If he could do that, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. We are because he hasn’t. It’s pretty simple. People aren’t making shit up and complaining for no reason. It’s always gonna be inconsistent (some good games too) until he can do those things. It shouldn’t be year three and this happening.

I think in most football discussions, pointing out that that was a poor performance isn’t controversial at all - but somehow with you, you immediately jump in to deflect blame and defend the performance.

It’s odd, no? Is it really controversial to say a third year guy getting 99 passing yards in a full game isn’t a very good performance?

Like, YES - you’d think he could throw for 100 yards.  He didn’t - I didn’t watch the game, but that looks like CJ Stroud didn’t play well today right?  I don’t think saying “that wasn’t a very good game by CJ Stroud” is really controversial, but if it was Justin Fields it absolutely would be.

CJ Stroud has already done things Fields can’t and doesn’t do. He’s only a rookie. I know, I know, Stroud is a generational talent, has better weapons, better coaching, blah blah blah…
