Didn't you also tell us how free agency, since the Bear had so much cap space, was going to help at the WR and other positions? How has that gone?

I never said FA was gonna help at WR. It was a very poor FA class for the position. He got a difference making WR (and lots of premium draft capital along with him) in a trade. I’m pretty happy with what Poles has done. He seems to be patient and placing an emphasis on value, unlike his predecessor. Yes, he needs stars, but he also needs depth and play-making skill position players. Drafting Robinson could end up being a real coup (particularly if he’s able to trade down). As I said, the first round isn’t the only place they can address the lines. There are good to excellent players in the 2nd round, and if they trade down, they could end up with 3 2nd rounders. And they have next years’ draft picks. I very much like where Poles is going.

And again, you could justify almost any path Poles takes in the 1st round. Minus QB or TE IMO.

Hell, I’d even say you could maybe justify QB; even though that would be a move totally out of left-field. And it ain’t happening.

Poles has done an B+ job so far he’s been here. It give him an A if he landed like a Dre’Mont Jones or a difference-making DT in FA. Although I do like that he didn’t overpay on any either. And if he can land Jalen Cater at 9 I forgive him and give him the A. Get the OT and other parts of the lines later in the draft. The rebuild won’t be complete until after next offseason but he’s done a helluva job so far in my opinion.

I’d draft Will Levis and move Fields to RB.

All very reasonable.

Lol. If they draft Levis, you trade Fields.

Unwilling to draft a Bijan Robinson but willing to leave premium draft capital on the table in order to move a 3rd year player to a position he’s never played is probably the best hot take I’ve seen all year.

He's probably been up all night.

I’m disappointed no one likes my monthly bathroom video idea.

You could trade Fields but you’d only get back a 5th round pick

I’d rather try Fields at RB than have a 5th rounder.

Plus Levis tested out a stronger arm than Josh Allen.  His upside is phenomenal.

His mechanics are reportedly terrible.

Peyton Manning seems to think Levis is a freaking stud…

I also like that he had Ivy League offers.  If you are smart, and have a strong arm, that’s generally all you need to be a good QB.

I doubt he gets by the Raiders.

Lol

I think it’s pretty firmly accepted you'd get a 1st and a 3rd, minimum.
