Honestly not sure. I think they are pretty mixed. But again. I didn’t really want them to “take Carter.” You’d know this if you could read better.

I’d love to know what kind of discussions were had regarding Carter a week or two ago, but it’s highly unlikely we will ever know.

The Score is a fucking hot take machine.  Nothing more.  My guess is that's the hottest take, and they're running with it.

Mully wanted Carter. Haugh wanted Robinson. Haugh and Spiegs were very anti-Carter. Parkins I think wanted Carter. Not sure where the rest of them stood.

But again, I didn’t “want” Carter (badly anyway). But I’d probably have been willing to call bluffs and kept Philly from getting him. I have no idea how creative Poles was in shopping the pick, and we’ll almost certainly never know. It’s entirely possible Wright was his must have guy and didn’t want to risk losing him (thus took the safe route and traded with Philly). I don’t see how that possibility is thrown out as ridiculous.

Taking Carter and packaging him with Fields to trade to the Bucs.

For the 39th time, that “reason” MIGHT have been that he desperately wanted Wright and was afraid someone else would take him if he traded down too far.

I’ve been probably the most pro Poles person here. I’m just not sure this was his best moment as GM. I’m not looking to “assign blame,” as much as just wondering if that really was the best we could do. Perhaps it was. But just because that’s what happened doesn’t mean that’s the unassailable truth. Unless we were in on the discussions were surmising.
