There was a Mexican kid in my class named Tony, he always had the good shit at the park on the 4th. Used to have challenges holding a black cat in your fist and trying to hold it tight enough it wouldn’t really explode. I never did it, was too much of a pussy.

Made 24 pulled pork sliders out of some vacuum sealed pork I smoked a month or two ago. Hawaiian rolls, pork, bread and butter pickles, homemade pickled red onions, pepper jack cheese, and then brushed the top with a butter sauce made with some garlic, bbq rub, and Worcestershire. Into the pellet grill for 20 mins at 350. Forgot to get an after picture. Super easy and 🔥🔥🔥.  No leftovers 😔

Every year the fireworks stuff down here blows my mind. It’s sounded like WWIII around here since 8:50 and it’s just now starting to slow down. And it’s been just building for the past week each evening into this frenzy tonight. It really catches me off guard having lived in nanny state Illinois most of my life.

downtown Chicago was always absolutely bonkers on the 4th, one time I took a small plane up out of Midway as my best friend was a pilot, and you could see fireworks like 50 miles all around you all at once, was super cool and something I'll always remember (since we nearly died multiple times that night lol)
