Actually, the mayor has so far been much more moderate. It is as if he looked at the books and found out he can't pay for all his commie stuff like he wanted. He can't even pay for all the asylum seekers that Lightfoot welcomed to town. At least those schools no one was going to that Rahm closed can be put to good use. Mayor still talks a good Commie game though.

How did the cities get this way? Was it because the urban schools were well funded? Was it because of the fair housing practices, like decentralized public housing, and equal opportunity mortgage lending practices? I bet it's the end to cash bail in Chicago that will not take effect until Sept 15!

One of the oldest Italian restaurants flees the city and that is your Murph-like response. Plenty of unused restaurant and office space in the Loop that is for sure. Maybe Nichi could send some of the unhoused people in his yard to live in them.
