High level entertaining college basketball game. We certainly had our opportunities to put this away. Tony Perkins had other ideas though and Iowa lived at the free throw line.

Underwood encouraging a 27% three point shooter to fire 3s in a close game is terrible coaching. 

The fact that game was close, was because Iowa was terrible on the glass.

Illinois played the same dumb game they been playing all year long.  Tons of turnovers, brain dead 3 point shooting attempts.  Just basic AAU ball.  Most teams on their home court should blow out the opponent when the opponent has 18 turnovers, and home team hits about 90% from the line.  Even with Mayer having his 1 hot game every 5 games, still should not have been close.

Perkins scored 32 points on 11 fg attempts. Made 1 of 2 from 3. 15-16 on throws.

We made 4 of our first 7 threes. Finished 7 of 22.

Hot team at their place and had a kid put up the game of his life. Not too angered by the loss in the end.

We didn't back down when Iowa made their runs. Moral victories aren't it I know but at least it wasn't like our other losses where we came out lifeless and uninspired.
