No I'm not. I see Biden as a good guy with good interpersonal political skills. He is well liked by colleagues on both sides of the aisle. Public appearances were never his strength; he was always better one on one. The stutter was part of that. He may have been operating at a reduced capacity, but he was still competent and surrounded by capable people.
Ronald Reagan was similar in many respects. He too was a good guy with good interpersonal skills. He was also well liked on both sides of the aisle. A big difference is public appearances were a strength for Reagan.
I always thought Bob Dole was a good comparison for Biden. Both moderate, both better one on one than in front of a crowd, both known for getting things done.
