Nonetheless, the FBI had the laptop for close to a year and when they found out the story was coming out 3 weeks before a Presidential election, they referred to it as hacked material.
In reaching the decision on how to handle it, Twitter relied on what they had been told. Within hours, the 'hacked' material determination was being questioned internally.

Let's see what happens now that the lawyer vetting the Twitter documents was terminated, it sounds like, for vetting them. Still not buying Twitter swung the election given its minimal use in the mainstream, but people need shit to whine about when their guy loses like Hillary et al. blaming Comey.

The guy doing the vetting was involved in the Carter Page FISA, witholding evidence from Durham re Sussman and the Twitter suppression of the laptop story.
He resigned from the FBI over a leak investigation.
The laptop suppression also involved Facebook and the Google.
1/2 the country uses social media for news.

The number of people on the Twitter is not that significant

Plus, I am guessing they are mostly urban/suburban people
