I just want everyone to know that a retired black couple AND an Indian family live in our neighborhood! The Indian family—get this—owns gas stations, hotels, and rental proporties all over town!

To the north is an African-American family where the elementary school aged boy only wants to play baseball. I have given them youth baseball stuff we no longer need. The kid appears to be good so far.

To the south is a Filipino family where the dad has had a ponytail and is a Saints fan. The mom sells Lululemon-style workout clothes from the house. No clue what the 3 kids over there do.

Did I consult or confide in you at the time? I most definitely did not want to move to the burbs. But I did what I thought was going to make my son’s mother happy. Hindsight is 50/50 as some say (yes, I know it’s 20/20).
