Lots of native born people already work in those industries, doing manual labor. Fewer every year though as we’ve let more and more people into the country to fill the low paying jobs that are replacing the high paying jobs we are losing. I suspect we have enough people to get your tofu to you in a timely manner.

There appear to be more imported workers in some sectors; fewer in agricultural due to automation. It's probably about the same in the service and hospitality sector.

The increase might be in construction and some kinds of factory work. I have no idea what they get paid; but they seem to work circles around 'native born' counterparts and actually show up everyday. A 'Mexican" crew will finish is roof in one day that takes an American crew the better part of a week.

Except that immigrant and native workers often compete for different lower-skilled jobs.  Just watch the farm, meat packing, dairy and construction industries lobby the Trump Administration to spare their workers from any mass deportation orders.  It’s already started.
