Is he restricting everyone but himself?

Freedom of speech isn’t given to you (or taken away) by the CEO/Owner of the Twotter. It’s a hell of a platform for the world’s richest man to spew his fascist agenda, though.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Oh, he isn't restricting anything. Just get on there and scroll. It won't take long to see a girl's ass. Her pussy will soon follow.

You said he did it for his own free speech and not mine. He already had a platform before he took over Twitter. Lots of people didn’t or had been deplatformed under previous management and have now been replatformed. You could make a really good argument some or maybe even most of those people don’t deserve a platform and I’d probably agree with you.

But not buying that it’s only about his free speech. It’s about allowing those conservative and/or non-establishment voices to have a platform again, which is what you don’t like.

I’d call it 80/20 in favor of Elon.

Would maybe give you 70/30.

But rest assured, the impetus to buy Twitter wasn’t Custard’s freedom of speech.

You think he spent 70% of 44 billion so his tweets wouldn’t get deleted?

This ultra-simplistic conclusion explains our impasse.

You said it was 70/30 for Musk’s freedom of speech.

You said it was 70/30 for Musk’s freedom of speech.

You seem to be looking at it simply as a right to post his tweets. He bought it because it’s the ultimate megaphone for his personal and professional agenda.

It’s pretty clear that Musk, along with certain moderate and conservative groups, didn’t want to go through another election cycle with all the major social media platforms being Democrat controlled. 44 billion is pretty cheap when you think about it. That’s just one of our normal sized payments to the war in Ukraine.

Hint: He didn’t spend 44 billion to protect tweets.

for 44 billion he could have bought and shut down MSNBC and CNN.

The notion that Elon spent 44 billion because he cared about Custard’s tweets is cute.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

for 44 billion he could have bought and shut down MSNBC and CNN.

That vacuum is easily and quickly filled by equivalent outlets. Twitter usage, impressions, habit, format, etc are unique and more impactful. Maybe not long term over many years as more people leave it, but over the last couple it has been for sure.
