What grade do you give this season?

I say A

If you told me before the season 8-4 with a chance of a New Year's weekend bowl I would be ecstatic but knowing we had the division in our hands and blew it hurts the grade


Our 4 losses were by a combined 20 points. Man

I'll go with A+.
Far exceeded my expections. A top defense and the yardage leader in rushing.
We've still got a chance at a Jan 2 bowl in Tampa.

8-4 and played the 2nd best team in college football down to the wire on the road.  Bielema maximized this group’s potential. The competitiveness in the Michigan game took a B+ into an A for me

Grading on an Illini We Have Been Kicked in the Balls in Football Forever Curve:
Honors course A+, but should be an AP course A if did not suck against IN, MSU, and Purdue.

Non-Illini Football Curve grade:
B. Lost 2 games to 2 of the worst teams in the B1G East and 1 of them only won 1 road game all year. Had MI on the ropes and blew it. Lost B1G title by losing to Purdue at home.

If you look at this season in a vacuum, then I don't see how we are better than a B. Lost very winnable games.

I'd say B+. The MSU and Purdon't games dropped them from an A.

Still very pleased to be playing a January bowl game in the second year of the BB era. All good. Could have been better.....but we are Illinois.
