There are plenty of people who would label themselves as "Progressives" who aren't nuts. Even say - Bernie. Hey, let's raise taxes a bit, mostly on the wealthy, use some of it for services with good ROI, like maybe making Obamacare cheaper, expanding medicaid, so that people aren't so worried about health care or rationing it, which makes it easier for them to move up the economic ladder and make more money and pay more taxes. Reduce the deficit while we are at it with higher taxes on rich folks. Maybe cut the defense budget a bit. Maybe a lot. Might think hey, people in these marginalized groups should have a little dignity. Not necessarily a prime focus of our work because the top line economic issues are paramount, and if we are all a little heavier in the wallet, then maybe people won't be so mad at mexicans or blacks or queers. Higher education should be cheaper - we need an educated workforce, and those people end up paying a lot more taxes than someone who didn't go to college because they couldn't afford it. Win/win. There is a spectrum of people who try to claim the term "progressive".

Contrast to "Trumpers". Anyone out there with a MAGA hat, and buying this bullshit of tariffs, of kowtowing to Russia, of expelling people with student visas for completely ridiculous bullshit, ignoring the law and daring the Supreme Court to rule against them. The term "Trumper" has no nuance. No middle of the road conservative is trying to co-opt that term. Trump is what he is, and a "Trumper" is in Trump we trust, no holds barred, no RINOs allowed. Rand Paul says tariffs are bad, and suddenly that arch conservative might as well be Ilhan Omar.

You said the administration is having trouble finding illegals. SCOTUS did just help out with 500,000 + that President Autopen gave "humanitarian parole" to. Now it's a matter of finding them.

I said that some are making themselves easier to find.

They won't all be easy to find and the 300,000 + kids aren't easy to find either.
But it is easier to find them when the illegals show themselves.  Unfortunately it's too late for the victims.
And I assume the victims don't care if he came in on a tourist visa or a golden chariot. How he got here is irrelevant. As is, he shouldn't be here and there are 12 victims.
Taxpayers will now foot the bill for his trial and possible life sentence.

And I don't care where the illegals are from or what color skin they may have. You compared Trump's millions of illegals with Bush's WMD. The WMD had a political purpose, based on a misguided lie, but a purpose.

I think whomever was behind the open borders decision is dangerous. It's a national security nightmare.
What was the purpose behind the open borders ?

This probably wound up in the wrong thread.

My best guess is that net immigration increase under Biden (new arrivals less removals) was around 8.5 million. About 60% are or were here legally, leaving almost 2.9 million who were here illegally. Some crossed the border illegally, others overstayed visas. There were about 5.1:who were here legally.

Note the 2.9 million number has increased and and the 5.1 number has decreased since Trump took office. The reason is the Trump Admin has changed the rules, making some here legally, illegal.

Total illegal immigrants, including those already here before Biden's 'open' borders,  is probably between 11'and 15 million.
