Well, if I was 100% innocent of something, and statute of limitations could get the case tossed before having to fuck with going to trial, I would 100% want my lawyer to pursue that avenue. Seems like a no brainer. You never know what might happen in a trial, or what a jury might do.
Not saying it’s not the prudent thing to do for the defense. It just doesn’t scream “we’re innocent.”
Again, lots of money in fines and settlements were paid; and jobs attached to big names were lost. But did you know there was a threesome?
