Feels like 2007.  The team is legitimately good, probably feasting on an easy schedule- but could conceivably go 10-2, and has a way better coach at the helm this time.

Next 2 weeks are huge.  Iowa/Minnesota at home.  If you win those games, the program ascends to a level not seen since Mackovic.  I think most saw 2007 as a fluke with ultra talent/poor coach in Zook.  2001 with Turner could be comparable, especially bc recruiting is still pretty bad like with Turner, but still feels 2001 was flukish with an NFL QB (Kittner drafted) and 4 NFL WRs.   This current team feels like great coaching players that can be replaced each year.

This defense is so much better than a Ron Turner era defense.
