Probably the dumbest take in board history. Congrats.

You don't give yourself enough credit.
I am a former 5-star general. Or maybe it was 4-star.
Nichi claims a guard with a 1.3 assist-to-TO ratio is a good passer.

Not bad.

So I saw this guy at the Cincy game last week and liked his hat. I asked him about it and he said their center, Ted Karras, designed it and sells them through his website. Some of you might remember that he played for the beloved and is related to Alex Karras.

Anyways here is the link, proceeds go to charity:

Probably the dumbest take in board history. Congrats.

Last 3 years:

49’ers
2020: 6-10 (Draft Trey Lance 3rd)
2021: 10-7
2022: 13-4

Bears:
2020: 8-8 (Draft Justin Fields 11th)
2021: 6-11
2022: 3-14

Brock Purdy (6-0) in 6 starts.
107.3 Passer Rating
65.6 QBR

Justin Fields (5-20) in 25 starts.
79.7 Passer Rating
43.4 QBR

Nobody is trading for Justin Fields.  Much less a smart organization like the 49ers.

He is further cementing his Justin Fields Cult status. He is its Tom Cruise.

Purdy has played against 4 of the worst defenses in the NFL and has a plethora of riches around him. He’s probably definitely better than “last player drafted,” but he’s not as good as he’s been playing.

Being the quarterback of the Bears this year, and being the quarterback of the 49ers couldn’t be more diametrically opposed. One guy literally had the least support in the league, and the other probably the most.

So if the sample size on Purdy is its too small to consider whether he's really good or not, fair enough.

The sample size on Fields is large enough to conclude he sucks.
And the sample size of the Bears organization since 2020, compared to the 49ers organization in 2020, is enough to conclude they have no idea what they are doing.

Rebuilds don't take 3 years in the NFL.  Period

The “sample size” on Fields includes Matt Nagy, lack of offensive firepower or support. There is not one Bear on this offense who would start over anyone on the 49ers. Minus Fields. That’s not to say Fields is a finished product. He’s not. But he’s literally the least supported quarterback in the NFL.

The quarterback of the 49ers is the most quarterback friendly situation in the league.

It’s ok to acknowledge both situations aren’t the same.

Well it depends on how bad the situation is. And this year was more of a tear down than a “rebuild.” The rebuild starts in earnest next year. I expect the Bears to be much improved next year. Two years from now could be quite good.

Again, Fields is the only offensive player on the Bears that would start for the 49ers (you could make a case for Tevin Jenkins, who plays the least valued position in offensive football). But Shanahan moves on from guys who are hurt all the time. That’s why they wanted to get rid of Jimmy G.

Ankle biting.

Next year's Bears QB just declared for the NFL draft.
