It’s possible he’s a long-term starter for them. I’d venture to guess the odds are against it, though.

Their training camp certainly will be interesting if they don't make any moves in the offseason.

18-28
215 yards
0 turnovers
2 sacks taken

Thats called efficient good QBplay.

You really think if Fields is QB’ing the 49ers he’s doing better than that?

Fields went 17-28 with 3 TDs 0 INTs and had 11 carries for 178 yards and another TD against Miami. Not efficient enough for ya?

Purdy shows a high degree of competency and poise for a rookie. But San Fran better hope they don’t have to win a shootout with Philly, KC, or Cinci.

You cherry picked one game where almost the entire game was garbage time.  Try again.  I went back to check the game log of that game.

Miami was up 20-10 and coasted the rest of the game.

Little different atmosphere than a playoff game.

Why don’t you pick the rest of the games that Fields stunk in.  Not to mention, Purdy has played nearly 8 full games and hasn’t had a bad one yet.  Whereas most of Fields games were bad

SF was averaging the most points in the league after Purdy was made starter. They went from 23 under Jimmy to 34 with Purdy.  I think they can handle scoring lots of points.  They just put 40 on the Seahawks last week

The Bears were down 35-32 with 11 minutes to go in the 4th. Nothing close to garbage time. In fact, had PI been called when Claypool was clearly held the Bears would have been in position to tie or take the lead on their final possession.

Brock Purdy is only the 5th rookie QB to start a conference championship game:

Shaun King (lost) to Rams (Warner)
Joe Flacco (lost) to Steelers (Ben)
Mark Sanchez (lost) to Colts (Peyton)
Ben Rothlisberger (lost) to Patriots (Brady)

Purdy vs Eagles (Hurts).  Doubt Hurts is a hall of famer so I like the 49ers chances

Purdy is an impressive rookie. Definitely under-drafted. He’ll have a career in the league. Am I penciling him in as the starter for San Francisco the next 5 years? Absolutely not. His ceiling is probably a more mobile Jimmy G. It’s likely he sticks around 8-10 years as a backup. His floor is probably Gardner Minshew.

I realize you are speculating, but this reads like a prime example of Temp0ing.

Wow, Buffalo got pwned.

The list of unrestricted free agents on the Dallas roster is something. That team could be way different next season.

And we're talking about actual unrestricted free agents, not players who might get released weeks or years from now.

Yeah? What’s your Tom Purdy analysis?

Yeah? What’s your Tom Purdy analysis?

Think about the crapload of teams that need a QB. It'd be faster to list the ones that don't.

He'll be a starter somewhere.

As was Matt Cassel.

I have to say that I am entertained by Tempo dragging someone who has actually accomplished something as a QB in order to defend someone else who has completely sucked as a QB.

Maybe he is right or maybe he is wrong.

I don’t think Tempo really understands what the 2022 Bears stats are showing when analyzing the QB.

2022 Bears:
Points - 19.2 (23rd)
Rush Yards - 177.3 (1st)
Pass Yards - 130.5 (32nd)
Sacks - 20 (32nd)

If you are last in the league in passing yards, and 1st in rushing yards, then you are obviously throwing less than most other teams.  But to lead the league in sacks, when you throw fewer times than anyone else, should tell you how bad the QB’ing is.

And the thought that a running QB leads to better offense, nope. 1st in rush yards, last in pass yards, 23rd in scoring.  Fields running for 1,100+ yards results in 23rd in scoring.
